Australian dies after 'planking' on balcony, police say
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-13389207

Australian police say a man who plunged to his death from a seventh-floor balcony on Sunday was participating in the internet craze of "planking".
Planking involves someone lying flat on their stomach in unusual and sometimes dangerous situations, and posting photographs on social media websites.

    What a silly planker! (Rodney)

There must be an easier way to lie down and do nothing. ;)

And that's his legacy, death by a stupid internet fad.

Just saw that on SKY News. Not the most noble way to die. Oh well - 1 less idiot in the world, so can't say it bothers me.

Also - I think he's missing the point of the fad - it doesn't have to be a dangerous place - just unusual or funny. It's like Jackass - the stuff that hurts them the most (like stapling their nuts) is the least funny, and the clever funny stuff (like pretending to be homeless & eat sh*t out of a nappy from a bin) is the best stuff. Less is more. Plank somewhere clever if you must do it - it doesn't have to be dangerous. Oh wait - who am I saying this to? The guy is dead - I assume he gets it now!

    Plank indeed.

And yet if you check you'll find the average IQ of Australia has still dropped slightly.

One of my greatest fears is dying in a retarded way. Any eulogy delivered would just sound ridiculous.

"He was a bright young man, except for when he did that retarded thing that killed him..."

The best place in Australia for doing that kind of thing is Darwin.

He failed at planking but he's a shoe in for this years Darwin award. He should be the ambassador for the internet 2011.

Australians have to have their own word for everything.
