    Hi all
We're having a very small ceremony in August of 15 people. We would like to have some professional photos taken but certainly not a whole album's worth! I mean we don't need someone following us around for a number of hours during the meal etc, just some nice photos taken before and just after the ceremony which I'm told will take ten minutes or so.

However from what I can see online, most places seem to charge several thousand for the album, dvd and even airbrushing! Does anyone know if wedding photographers cater for our simple request...?

Hi Esmerelda, most will work out a package to suit you and you can request a disc only package also. Believe it or not there are some of us here that are quite reasonable.;)

Thanks Smelltheglove. I'm sure there are! My problem is that I am currently based in Dublin and would love to have a photographer recommended to me.

    Hello Esmerelda,

What you're looking for isn't impossible really, many pro photographers should be able to quote for your requirements.

You're looking for recommendations, well I can recommend Smelltheglove. I don't know her and am in no way connected but I have seen her work on the forum (it very good indeed) and her website and she did take the time to respond to your query...

    Rachel Fox Photography - http://www.rachelfoxphotography.com/

I think the time of 10 minutes that you've been told is unrealistic. It takes time to get people arranged for shots and people wander off or are busy having a chat etc... If you simply order people around they can sometimes look a bit grumpy in shots so for that reason alone you're looking at more than 10 minutes.

While the shots themselves don't take all that long in the context of the day, there is background work that the photographer has to do such as editing and printing or creating a DVD etc... This definately takes a while and most people never think of this aspect when a price is quoted.

Hope this advice is helpful to you, best of luck with the ceremony :)

    Hi Tactical

Thank you for all your help!

Just to point out though that I didn't mean that the photos would take 10 minutes, just the ceremony itself. I hope to have a photographer with us for about 2 hours...

    Thanks again!

For that length of time you should be able to get in some great location shots if that's your thing(as I'm sure you know Killarney offers a really fantastic choice of locations for outdoor shots if the weather cooperates ) as well as the usual ceremony and afters shots.

Sorry for misinterpreting your original post in respect of time :o

there's a number of photographers on the photo forum who can sort out something for you....maybe even a boardsie discount :D

off the top of my head (and they're already been in touch from reading the thread)

    Rach (Smelltheglove)
    Aindreas (Ballyman)
    Keith (Borderfox)

I'm sure there are others out there.
