Am in germany to visit a freind who has had chemo for the big C and her fingerprints have been fried, making access to her LG impossible.

Any thoughts on how to disable? pc is legit etc etc

Its running XP and a quick snoop of LG site shows nothing for pc's

found this link: dont know it this helps

i would have thought...well on mine anyway i have password and fingerprint.. so you have both options...
on the login can you press ctrl alt delete twice i think? it should bring the screen with the password option for the users...
assuming there is a password tahts known....

Fingerprints are usually just an alternative to manually typing in known passwords. And a good way to avoid keyloggers. But, it should just be a matter of typing her passwords manually and she can reset the fingerprint reader if her "new" fingerprints are stable and wont change with more chemo. That is unless she relied on the fingerprint reader's password manager and used ridiculously long alphanumeric password strings. And if she did, I hope she wrote them down somewhere.
