There's already a thread about this in the US and Canada Travel forum, but this place seems to get more traffic so I thought I'd post the same question here. What is the best way to get money over there? I don't own a credit card and I was thinking of getting some sort of prepaid debit card. Ideas, suggestions or comments??

Are you going to be living in the USA or just travelling? If living, get a US bank account, then transfer money from your Irish account (you can do that online, at least with BoI).
