Overachievers: Stoke, they are in eight place right now, most thought they would be in the relegation dogfight and yet they havent spent like crazy nor attracted so much headlines or acclaim.

Underachievers: most say Aston Villa but given our managerial difficulties MON walking out before it started and the fact almost everyone was injured at one point or another i'd say West Ham. not a promoted side yet on course for rock bottom, thats underachieving.

Shock of the season: Liverpool paying all that money for Caroll, Hughton getting sacked should have been but considering those doing the sacking umm not so much but Rooneys transfer request saga is in there for sure.

I wouldn't use January as an excuse. I didn't mention Dzeko simply because City can afford to spend vast amounts and not have them work out. It doesn't matter much to them, they can just keep spending to fix it. The reason I included Torres is because Chelsea have gone out of their way to incorporate him in their team despite it being painfully obvious he is not needed. He's a good player, but it's like that episode of Friends where Rachel puts mince in a custard pie by accident. Mince is delicious, but it just doesn't suit custard pie

The fact that ye signed a player who had well documented injury problems and done very little the previous two seasons and made him one of the best paid players at the club makes him a fairly lousy signing IMO.

Because Im saying right now, Dzeko has been a poor signing. Im not saying he's one of the worst of the season due to the situation at Man City (I think a lot more goes into a bad signing than just how bad the player has been).

Sure in that case why are we even answering the overachievers and underachievers topics? Why don't we wait and see how West Brom do over the next couple of seasons to see if they truly are overachieving, likewise Villa with the underachieving.
