    hey all. ive always wanted to buy a mitsubishi lancer evo but im not really sure what the best way to go about it would be. my main concern would be a car that wasnt looked after properly and that had the crap driven out of it. i want a car that hasnt been modified bar maybe wheels but id imagine they would be pretty hard to find.

    would my best bet be to possibly import a car? and if so how the hell would i go about it? cheers

    no but my buddy had an Evo VII, beautiful car and just sticks to the road regardless.

    in the end he swapped it for a s2000 because it was just costing him a ridiculous amount to drive anywhere, kept that for a year, then bought back his Evo again! that must say something about the car i suppose

    im after an evo V or VI. yeah theyre fantastic cars - ive known a few people whove owned different models and ive never heard a bad word being spoken about them. like you said running costs would be high enough but i expected that anyway

    you need to buy from IMOC or from the MLR. but the MLR might be out of the question due to VRT costs.

    MLR = http://www.lancerregister.com/

    IMOC = http://www.irishmoc.org/vb/adv.php

    you may pay a bit of a premium but you know you'll get a good car. many things need to be maintained on evos and they quickly found their way into the hands of people that couldnt afford/be bothered to look after them such as oils, AYC fluid etc etc

    i had a V but i would try get a VI if you can as their a little bit fresher looking, but i wouldnt turn down a good V if one popped up. some very very nice TME versions on Donedeal at the moment.

    Evo's are proper machines but 'kceire' made a very good point aboout the majority of them falling into the hands of the wrong people.

    A mechanic friend of mine had a lovely EVO VII a while a go. he is a mechanic himself and the car came from an an older guy (late 30's) who traded up to a new audi.

    Car was perfectly maintained and an completely standard other than an uprated clutch and maybe exhaust (didnt even have a dump valve)

    Rumour has it its back up for sale now

    I think this might actually be it here but i cant see the reg
    (01-KE-7)

    If it is, its a bargain for such a great example

    rare colour too
