My 'New' Football Boots - Do I have A Case

    Hi,

I bought a new pair of Puma boots in January this year. They were fine for the last few months but now I was playing on them as you do and the stud fell out but I now find out that the whole stud hole has worn and no stud now fits. Although they are a few months old, and they haven't been used too much, can I ask puma for a new pair seeing as they really should last more than three months :/ what can I do?
    Thanks

I think it really depends on what you mean by their not having been used too much. I imagine their general condition would be significant. If, apart from the stud problem, they would pass for nearly-new, I would think you have an arguable case.

    I disagree.

Studs are known to come loose and come out from any boots, that's accepted. The fact that you neglected the problem and it gradually got worse through your inactions would suggest that you probably wouldn't have a case.

Edit:I misread it. OP after the stud fell out,did you play on for a while with no stud? And if so for how long?

OP, I think the only way you can argue a case is if the thread in the hole for the stud is not working properly, i.e. no matter how much you tighten the stud it is still loose in the socket caused by a factory fault. That happened me years ago after I played with a pair of boots for a couple of times, shop said no problem. It's only natural that it would take playing with the boots to discover the problem.

you would have a case as the boots are less than 6 months old, you would expect them to last a mininum of 6 months in which case yours did not, so you need to act quickly the longer you leave it the harder you will find it to get a replacement pair as they will look on it for how long you have owned the item abd then put it down to general wear and tear, your first port of call should be where you purchased the boots failing that then you go to the manufactuer
