Small church and venue for 30-40 people

Due to a family member refusing to go abroad for our wedding I'm looking for a small church and venue somewhere around Leinster (doesn't have to be Leinster but it would be ideal if it was) for a small wedding of 40 people maximum.

A small church along the lines of Gougane Barra (http://www.gouganebarra.com/church.htm) would be perfect but that's too far for us, I'm sure something similar is hard to come by though unfortunately? Also a venue that would be happy with 40 people and would treat us as well as they would 300...I know not many places take that small number.

I really don't know where to start on all of this as our plans to go abroad were in motion so starting over again is a bit daunting. If anyone could help at all with suggestions that would be great, thank you.

How about ladychapel church near Maynooth http://www.maynoothparish.dublindiocese.ie/

I was at a wedding there last year with similar numbers and it was ideal. The reception was at Calton house in one of the smaller function rooms. It was one of the best weddings I was ever at.

I'm not from the area so can't help with other reception ideas.

Thanks so much, Kildare would be ideal...I didn't know Carton House did smaller weddings in the smaller rooms, that's great to know. Thanks a million.

The more I see and read about Lady Chapel the more I think it could be exactly what we're looking for, thanks. Might take a drive out there tomorrow for a look.

Does anyone know if Barberstown Castle nearby cater for smaller weddings?

The couple had use of both the Drawing Room (entertainment before & after meal) & the Gold Saloon (meal)

You can see some images here.

Your welcome, we also looked at Gougane Barra (plan B) when were planning our wedding It's such a fabulous place & location. But I was very impressed with Lady Chapel also.

In the end we decided to go back to plan A and myself and dh fecked off and got married abroad on our own :D
