Just want to say well done to Alan and Mary and all at Ballina AC for organising a tremendous event this morning for the Ballina half marathon. The weather was overcast and when the rain came none of the competitors complained as it helped everyone cool down.

Roger Barret won and the great feature of the race is that it takes place alongside the River Moy. I appreciate that there is another thread on the Mayo forum about the Greenway in Newport/Mulranny and Beleek wood deserves a special mention for its scenery, walk ways, views and proximity to nature. It certainly made for a great part of the half marathon today and provided a little shelter and cool breeze from the Moy to all competitors.

The results aren't up yet but more details on the event here.
