Hi there, I am about to sell my car because I am emigrating. I still have 3 months third party, fire and theft insurance on the car with Quinn-Direct.

Am I just wondering whether they refund any of the insurance or should I just let it expire? Thanks.

if you have less than 9 months used they will refund 10% less admin fee of e50. if you have more than 9 months used then you get no refund.

    I think you misread it.
In case of 9 months left no 50e admin fee applies. 10% of premium is returned.

Additionally worth to mention, that it applies only if it was first year of policy.
If the policy was renewed and it's one of consecutive years, then the refund full premium for such period is refunded minus 50e fee.

I can advice that good solution here might be suspension of policy.
Just get a disc, cert and letter asking for suspending policy posted to them.
They will suspend policy. Make sure you inform them that you don't wish to renew it, and in the end they will post you a refund for suspended period.

Ha, it's small enough for a 21 year old driver! Just checked, its €650 actually! So going by that they would refund €65, minus the €50 fee.. Plus they don't pay out anything under €30.. So I won't get anything!

If you still have more than 3 months (f.e. 3 months and 2 days) you can get a refund of 65 euros. Fee of €50 doesn't apply in that case. Just read the linked policy above.

Still way better for you to suspend a policy for the last 3 months, as that way you will get way over €100
