    Hi.
My mother is thinking of buying a diesel Hyundai i30 deluxe but was told that low mileage (which she intends doing) can lead to problems with diesel cars. Can someone shed some light on this for me please.
Also, any views on the diesel Hyundai i30 deluxe itself. Any major problems with it.
    Thanks.

Unless your mum will spend some time regularly cruising on a motorway at 120kph a diesel isn't a great idea. If she won't be doing big miles she'd be better off with a petrol model. Unless of course she intends trading it in for a new one while it's still under warranty.

If she will only be doing small mileage then there is no reason to consider a diesel. Most of the latest smaller petrol engines will be in the €156 tax bracket at most if cheap tax is the reason she wants a diesel.

Modern componants like diesel particulate filters(dpf), egr valves etc don't like short trips/city driving.
