What's a good average putts per round?

I had 28 yesterday and it felt good!

That's because it is. Anything below 30 should leave you very satisfied.

If u hit 18 greens in regulation then 28 is brilliant if u miss them all then not so good. Sub 30 is generally good.

??? who hits 18 greens in regulation and shoots 8 under gross....

25-28 is a peak round for me putting wise, usually win a prize.. means ur getting up and down a lot, making few (if any 3 putts), chipping in maybe once/or putting in from off green... well done... try and keep it up......

30 putts per round for me and I'm having a great day on the greens !
Just keep the 3 putts off your card and the rest takes care of it's self .

I had one three putt in the round. I had about 4 or 5 one putts as the wedge was working well.

What makes it sweeter is the fact I'm finally feeling my new putter and I'm gatting back to putting well. Hope it continues!

putts per round is a dodge stat unless you are hitting greens in regulation. It can be used as a general indicator of your scoring game but not just putting . putts per green in regulation is a better reflection of how you are going with the short stick IMO

Well done on breaking 80 and thats great putting, all you need to do now is improve those irons as am guessing you didnt hit many greens in regulation

Had 25 putts yesterday in the monthly medal strokeplay off the blue tees. It seemed like everything I looked at went in. That includes 2 three putts, 2 lost balls and adds up to a 6 over par 78 gross. CSS was 74. Got cut 0.4 and entered Catagory 1 for the first time ever.

Celebrations cut short when I discovered that I was only 2 shots away from winning it.

I'm over in the states currently. Went for a round with a friend from here yesterday. He borrowed a set of clubs for me as obviously I didnt have my own.

On the first green, I plucked the putter out of the back. A beautiful Scotty Cameron. Lucky me I thought..... but the feeling of elation didn't last long when I realised the fecking thing was left handed

My friend, who is a full blown lefty (therefore I couldn't use his putter either), had completely forgotten that this guy swings right handed, putts left handed... I've never heard of such craziness!!

So, what to do, what to do.......

I'll tell you what I did..... I played lefty... and I was Awesome!!! :D

Okay, not exactly awesome, but it wasn't anywhere near as difficult as I expected. I found the distance control a bit tough on longer putts, but anything inside 10ft was going close, if not in.

I had only one 3 putt in the whole round, and that was on the first. I had 8 one putts (3 were from inside 2ft, but still... epic stuff) and the rest standard two putts.

Yes, that's 29 putts playing lefty..... maybe I should consider shifting sides for good* :pac:
