K i have 500 euro to spend and am trying to get more power out of my celica . Its a 190 vvtli model. Already have lightweight alloys on her . Just wondering what power increase could i expect if say i removed back seats and spare tyre etc and got full trd exhaust system . Any other suggestions are welcome . My dad a mechanic so the budget is just for parts , labour will be free .

Weight reduction won't increase power, it will just improve your power to weight ratio.

As for the exhaust system it's really down to how healthy your car is, also on our dyno (Dyno Dynamics) a healthy 190 will see around 165bhp so I'd recommend a run before and after. You have to remember that those figures would have been on an engine dyno using Jap fuel

How much does it cost to get the car tested on a dyno. I didnt think there would have been that much of a difference in hp due to fuel. Would the engine have not been remapped for irish fuel ??? Do you know if a celica 190 can be chipped ?

It's not just fuel, Jap figures tend to be over estimated and different methods used to ascertain those figures.

Not much can be done with the standard ECU of those as far as I'm aware, I'll find out the options for ya.

And I'll drop you a PM about the dyno run

:Dhey.... i've the same model car and i am a member of celica club Ireland... thats a site you should check out bud.... but if I had €500 to increase performance here is what i would do... plus i have done these to my car already :D

    (1) AEM cold air intake - from sumo power in the uk
    (2) clean the maf sensor for more response
    (3) strip rear seats and get a rear and front strut bar for much better handling and a 4 point harness to give it the america street racer look.

dont bother with the trd exhaust... firstly too expensive... have a look for a direct bolt on model (less resonators the better ) more free flowing air..

    hope this helps bud...
