'white fillings' and teeth whitening

I need to get some white fillings replaced in the boundaries of my lateral and central incisors (on both the left and right side). However i would also like to my teeth whitened at some stage. The dentist told me i need to get the whitening done first if i want it, as it won't take to the material that is used for the fillings. I was given a price of €400 to get my teeth whitened and he said it will last several years (not sure of the technique - i think i have the pamplet around somewhere) he also said the fillings need to be replaced soonish as they are showing signs of decay. While i can afford the money to get my teeth whitened, it would be a luxury to get it done and i'd still rather save the money at the moment. So i' wondering are there any whitening procedures that can be done after the white fillings are replaced, rather than before?

    Thanks,
    Mel.b

mel fillings are placed to match the colour of your teeth. If you have the fillings placed first on pre-whitened teeth, when the teeth are whitened the fillings stay the same colour and will again look to dark.

You whiten your teeth first to the colour you want then have the fillings placed to match this new colour so everything is the same shade.
