why is bulmers usually so expensive relative to beer? Its not even a great cider.

they might be taking advantage of people in their 20's who grew up on and have memories of Cidona in the 90's :)

Probably more to do with higher production costs of an apple crop compared to barley, wheat etc..

If you have a problem with my post, report it. Otherwise I'd appreciate it if you didn't try to make an example of me and call me out like that. I was trying to be helpful and show that it had already been posted before so a Mod could lock the thread.

It's always a good rule of thumb to search the bargain alert section before you post to see if it has been posted. Maybe now he will do it next time. I appreciate what the OP tried to do btw and didn't mean any harm in what I wrote, but somehow I don't think he took offence from it. You seem to have though, simply because I asked a question I already know the answer to.
If you continue to go around like that trying to start arguments with people when there is little or no basis you'll find yourself on a lot of people's ignore list.

In all fairness Kbobs giving a smart reply to the OPs alert doesnt look very helpful to me.

They positioned themselves as a premium drink after cider being cheap as pee for many years. That is to say, they charge those prices because people will pay them.

I spotted these in Dunnes Georges St yesterday and Superquinn were also doing them last week.

The real answer is there's a greater tax on cider due to it's appeal to kids being easier to drink than beer.

They're selling the 1 litre bottles @ 3 for a tenner which is the exact same as this deal.

Yeah there's greater duty on cider but there are a lot of cheaper ciders than Bulmer's.
