    Megane 1.4 Clutch problem

    Hi all,

I would be delighted with some advice on a problem. I have a Megane Dynamique 1.4 petrol with 40,000 miles. I bought this car new in 2003.

Recently (only with a cold engine) when releasing the clutch to take off in first gear, there is a lot of judder from the clutch until it is released fully. This problem hardly occurs when the engine is hot.

There is no clutch slip or difficulty engaging gears, only the judder noise on take off from cold.

    thanks

Mine did the same for while at about 45000 miles. The only way to avoid it was to keep the revs up a bit higher when pulling away when engine cold.
It also used to stall when hot so I cleaned the crank sensor and the throttle body (a 1 hr job on a sunny afternoon) and both issues disappeared. I reckon the engine wasn't getting the correct fuel mix when cold and was down on power which caused the juddering.
Clutch still feels perfect with 105,000 miles on the clock.
