Problem with Wireless Switch HP mini 110

The OH has one of these trouble free for awhile. I had Jolicloud OS installed on it. Not sure if everyone is familiar with the netbook but it has two sliding type switches at the front, one power switch and the one on the right the wireless switch. When the wireless is on the switch is blue and off it's orange.

The problem is all of a sudden the led is orange all the time and the wireless cannot be switch on. I wasn't too familar with Jolicloud (Linux) so I installed Win 7 back on thinking it was a driver problem, but the problem is on Win 7 also.

Is it possible that the drivers may be corrupted and I need to somehow reset the card maybe?

    Any suggestions really appreciated
    Thanks

this is a known issue certainly on older models of HP laptops, im quite surprised it's still an issue. im even more surprised because what seemed to cause the issue were the motherboards on the way out, needing to be replaced essentially. but that's worst case scenario.

is your netbook still under warranty with no issues when you check device manager? i understand that you've had the same issue on another OS, so it more than likely IS the motherboard, (i only found this out myself after having googled, performed a bios update, changed out wireless card, and so the motherboard was the only culprit left!)...

    Thanks for the reply

I think I've actually sorted it, by accident :). I was trying to open it up to see the network card (which is impossible btw) unsuccessfully and took out the battery. This must have reset the card because when I put it back in and started up the netbook it reinstalled the network drivers and voile. :)
