I have to go for a job interview on Tuesday (Same day as the Queens visit) and will be coming into Dublin from the M1 and then will travel through Drumcondra into Smithfield. Will it be possible to travel without too much interference or will the Queen mess everything up? I stress that I want to avoid public transport at all costs, I'm nervous enough as it is without having to go through that unreliable ordeal!

    Denerick,

Would it be worth your while contacting your interviewer and explaining the situation? They might reschedule for you, or at the very least if you do become delayed, at least they'll know you had a genuine reason.

The interview isn't until after 3 and I intend to leave here at half 7 in the morning (On a normal day its a 2 hour journey to Dublin) I'm not worried about time; I should have lots of it. I was thinking of either taking the Drumcondra route or come off the M50 towards Phibsboro, haven't decided yet. Hoping they don't decide to just block off Drumcondra at exactly the time I'm arriving. Thanks for the info.

If you pqrk in the ilac you can get a LUAS to Smithfield there should be no problems. My wife works in the city centre and been told by Garda there will be little delay. Just make sure you have a Photo ID( Passport or Drivers Liecence) Hope this helps

I'd imagine I'm too late given that today is Tuesday, but the Luas car park in Dundrum only costs a couple of Euro for a day's parking, so it'd be an option to leave the car there and then just get the Luas into town and walk to wherever you need to get to. The Dundrum exit on the M50 is really only another 10 or 15 minutes on from the Finglas one.

    Good luck.
