That must be a Typo more likely to be .1 %.

Or mixed up with amount of Baby Formula made in Ireland. I think Ireland produces around 10% of world baby formula

I wonder would it be 10% of traded milk on world market in 2020? As tora bora said, they would have the market cornered in accuracy and eyepopping headlines.

The more i look at the headline the more i check the calendar to see if it is April 1st again:rolleyes:.

Maybe they will clarify it in their farming supplement:)

To save anyone else reading through all that, it indicates that Ireland produces about 5.3 million tonnes of cow's milk/annum, slightly less than 1% of a world market of 578 million tonnes of cow's milk.

This would make the 10% figure the most accurate tabloid statistic in a decade.

i heard the same statistic repeated last night on the business show on rte with george lee , we dont produce 10% of the worlds milk but in terms of milk that is exported , ireland produces 10% of the dairy produce which is exported onto the world market , the uk would be much lower as it is a NET importer of dairy products due to its large population , thats not to say that more milk is produced in ireland than in the uk however taken in context , this article is correct
