    Hi all,

Just had a quick look on Google Maps and need some info,

There is some sort of enclosure at 53.564859,-6.642716 on Google Maps and I was wondering what it is?
Can anybody shed some light on this for me.

    Thanks.

Not really sure which enclosure you're referring too - I see a number of them in the general locale. Are you referring to the great big one around the entire house, gardens and lodge, or the weird lotus-shaped one between the house and the pond?

Hi, slight error in the co-ordinates should be 53.56491,-6.64278.
3000-4000 feet north east from the previous reference.
Its big and round and filled with trees.

It appears on one of the 1st edition OS maps as a tree-filled circle, but on a subsequent 25" map is depicted as Ringlestown Rath

    Cheers for that Aelfric,

need info on so many things I have found recently.
Perhaps we should try to organise a semi-professional research foundation.

    Thanks.

Just a follower of ancient history, but seriously I have found several sites recently that are not listed with the DOE people and yet I found these just by trawling google maps. And the information I have received from other Boards users is better than any info I got from the official sources.

Okay, this looks like collapsing into a big row so can we concentrate on saving some archeology instead of some builder putting some flats on our heritage areas.
