GFCH to heat immersion for showering or Electric Shower

Hi Peeps, Anyone any view on which is more economical and environementally friendly.
Currently for showering we heat the immerison with the gas central heater. (The Temp controls are all turned to Zero so the rads dont heat the water only heats the immerison)
Presently with 5 adults in the house we turn the gas central heating on for 2 hours in the morning and about 1.5 hours in evening for cleaning wash up and one or 2 more showers. It takes about an hour to get the immersion heated up for a few showers. Would it be both more eco friendly and economical to install an electric shower ie Triton 90

    More data would be needed.

Is the space heating turned off totaly? Then read the gas meter frequently, make notes and do a summary in a few months. Compare the gas usage with the would-be electricity usage.

Make sure the circulation pump doesn't run for 24 hours!

Gas usually comes cheaper than electricity in your situation. But think about ST as well, check with an energy advisor.
If the boiler needs replacement go for a modulating combi-condensing boiler, this would heat the water directly without wasting energy on a surplus tank content, without storage losses.
