Ok lets have a serious topic now After Hours (:pac:)
I was talking to someone earlier and interesting things were said.

(i can only over view things I guess or this will be a big long post) so lets look at different sides:

    (against the queens visit)

    - The past (an obvious one) and it wasnt so long ago that an irish person in the UK was thought to be an immediate IRA scumbag (talking about the 1980s here) which leads into current events:
    - Current events. The celtic manager Neil Lennon and the attack and death threats. All religion related. So there still is Catholic-Protestant hatred going down within the UK.
    - Reports say it'll cost the tax payer 30 million for this visit. Our country that has alot of problems as it is.

    (pro for the queens visit)
    - past is the past.
    - obviously ireland has recieved aid from the uk so this is buttering up tactic.
    - I guess other users can post more. (all i can think of :pac:)

So it comes down to the individual. And this is a message board :pac: Is an Irish person being a turn coat to support it?

So what side are you on and explain?

Are the irish turn coats? 17 votes

No, the people against it are turn-coats for being so obsessed with a foreign head of state. You'd swear they were her subjects mad at their treatment.

    Yet another divisive dumbass thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, whether we like it or not another head of state visits our country. We might not like her or what we feel she stand for, but FFS, she deserves some respect being someone elses head of state!

This anti royal thing is just getting old. We don't have royalty, and yes we are a republic, so fcuking what. She is an 83(or something) year old woman, aren't we supposed to treat the elderly with a bit of respect and decorum????

This sh1t is just getting old and boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No!!! and to call the figurehead of another Nation unwelcome is bad form!

Now to call her and Obama cheapskates would be fair IMO.

People will never be past it. I can in 100 years time. Ireland has been long since united. The grandson of Prince William visits Ireland as King of England, and they'll probably still try and blame him for the English occupation during his Great Great Grandmas time.
