Query on the above flight im taking on Saturday figure maybe some boardies can give me a straight answer.

So I clear immigration and customs through the CBP facility in Pier E. Great.

What happens when i transfer in ORD, will i have to be screened again for the internal United fiight? Im not talking by customs or immig just regular passenger screening.

What I'm getting at is that if i buy a large bottle of something in the duty free in DUB, is it going to be taken from me by the TSA in ORD when i go through passenger screening for the connecting flight?

If I get to reclaim my hold luggage in ORD then thats fine I can put it in that but if my bags are checked straight through to SFO I'm in trouble... :)

Yes, you will as you'll be changing terminals at Chicago. So no liquids > 100ml. Bags would normally be checked right through now that Customs clearance is done in Dublin.

    Gutted...

    Thanks for the quick reply!

On a side note, is there anything to do in the vacinity of ORD that might eat into my 5 hour stop over?

EI arrive into T5 (International Terminal) and you'll have to take the Sky Train to T1/2. T1, T2 and T3 (AA) are connected airside so you can move freely though them once through security.

You can request that EI only tag your bags as far as ORD, reclaim them, bring them on the train to United's check-in desks and check them in there.

Found this on another forum from late 2010: "I walked directly to the train stop at ORD, which took about 10-15 minutes from Terminal 1 Concourse B. I took the L to Jackson and got there a little bit past 1pm. Walked to Willis Tower from Jackson (5-10 minutes). Went in but the line was too long to buy tickets (about 20-25 minutes). Could've bought Fast Track tickets online and went up the tower right away, but I didn't know if I was going to have enough time for that until the day of.
I then took a cab to Millenium Park ($6 including tip). Walked around.. Saw the bean, Wrigley Square, Pritzker Pavilion. Walked some more downtown and ended up walking all the way back to Jackson. Got back on the L and was back at ORD at around 3:40pm."
