Lighting stockists

I've been looking at getting a decent lighting kit but can't seem to find anywhere in Dublin that deals in anything but Elinchrome. Am I missing something? The D-Lite 4's were on my radar, but I was hoping somewhere would have Interfit EX's or even Bowens that I could compare.
I had been looking at the Interfit EXD200's, simply from a budget standpoint, but couldn't find a stockist here. If I could justify it, I'd push the budget out a bit and go for the D-Lites, but I'm not sure I need that power yet (although there's an argument there for needing it in the future).

The Interfits I can get with some ease from the UK, but I'd rather have a goosey at them before I splash out and discover the D-Lites were the better option all along. I'd also prefer to buy local, given the chance.

I know DML do a few others, but we're talking a budget of €300-400 really. Anyone have any ideas who might stock such things? Or has anyone had prior experience with EX's or Lumen8's and recommends just pushing on for the D-Lites instead?

DML (dml.ie) are in Dublin and seem to be the main dealers for Bowens at least. They've a showroom with slot of it set up so you can try stuff out.

Sorry just properly read your post! :o

Not Dublin, but barker photographic (cork) will deliver. A few people from the forum have gotten lighting from them AFAIK http://www.barkerphotographic.ie/

Yeah I know both, I've had a scour of their websites already. The problem is that while DML do Gemini and Lastolite heads, they're still in the D-Lite price range. Barker, much like every other store I've tried, only do Elinchrome.

It's partly a case of not really needing D-Lites yet and partly not being fully willing to spend quite that much. This is why I was trying to find an Interfit stockist within Ireland. The EXD200's may only be half the power, but they're as much power as I need right now and they're around half the price (in internet prices at least).
I'm at the stage now where I'm no longer sure whether I should order the Interfits from the UK or stretch and get the D-Lites from an Irish stockist (since they're everywhere).

Miniphoto in Lucan seem to have at least some Interfit lights, might be worth a phone call?

At €399 that is a massive mark up.
I got the exact same kit from Warehouse Express in the UK for €260 delivered.

Up to the OP whether to buy them there or not, he asked if anywhere in the Dublin area stocks them.

I hadn't heard of them actually. That price is enormous compared to the average prices I've seen them available elsewhere though. The three head EX150 package is actually available cheaper than that.

It'd be preferable if they were available from an Irish store, but there's a limit to how much extra I'm willing to pay to support local.

Still it's a handy enough place to go and see the kit, at least that way you can decide if they are fit for purpose. Also I had never heard of them either, they don't appear to be too bad on price for some of the other stuff.

i think barkers do interfit stuff too actually although they are in cork

Yeah, definitely worth calling in to have a look at. I've heard good things about their build quality, so it's really down to whether it's worth spending the money on Elinchromes over those.

I did have a look at Barkers website, but all I could see were Elinchromes. Unless they have them in stock but unlisted on the site?

I've seen Interfit stuff at Hall's on Talbot Street. But only low-end. Perhaps worth a call.
