Mondeo turbo whistle

I`m just looking for some advice.
    I have a 05 mondeo titanium x 2l diesel.
The problem is that the turbo has a whistle but there is no loss in power. What does this mean? Does it mean that it will need replacing or could it be something as simple as a split pipe?

    Any input appreciated.

There's plenty of stories about that pipe splitting or having a a very small hole in it and from what i've heard it can cause a whooshing sound alright. Have a close look it for a cracking or splits and make sure that it's not a little loose too. Start with the simple thought first as there's no need to think it could be a failed turbo yet. What milage is on it

Mileage is 125k miles, I`m thinking a turbo should last quite a bit more.

Do you have lots of black smoke coming from the exhaust, any flashing warning lights on the dash like the glow plug symbol flasing when you rev the car. It shouldn't be knackered by 125k miles if all the oil changes were done to schedule . If you cant see any holes drop it into a mechanic you can trust and explain whats happening and he should be able to see if there's anything wrong with the turbo

But like i said before a spilt pipe on the mondeo is a common enough problem so start from there, hope it's a cheap fix for you

The pipe from the intercooler to the vavle has been changed last week. It had a split in it. Only bought the car 2 weeks ago and it had the whistle but I thought it was this pipe. maybe theres another one broke somewhere. There`s no abnormal amount of smoke.
