Was down visiting the Father in Naas and popped into Maxi Zoo Pet store beside Woodies on the Monread Road. I had just bought an 8x300g box (large size) in Tesco's thinking they were the cheapest as the same box is nearly a tenner in woodies, anyway Maxi Zoo are selling two of these boxes for 7 euro which in my book is pretty good value at 44c a pouch. Some good value to be had on other items instore also.

is pedigree not really bad for them tho? vet told us its basically mcdonalds for dogs...much better to give them dry food like royal canin, science plan etc with a bit of chicken or turkey or something nice now & again mixed in

We use these as a mix for our 'Furry destroyers' dry food which just happens to be Royal Canin. We also use tuna fish and sardines but she also likes these.

Ive said it before over in Animal and Pet and ill say it again...while Pedigree Chum isnt the best quality food you can feed your dog,its by no means the worst. Plenty of dogs do fine on it and if its all you can afford to feed your dog dont feel guilty.

Dunnes are doing 12 cans for €6...which is also really good.

Deleted all the posts that quoted that troll, nothing personal to the people who responded to him, just tidying up.

After Maxi Zoo in Tallaght told me how bad Pedigree is for any dog I feed my dog Royal Canine nuts. Its great and her coat (springer/cocker spaniel) is so shiny. I mix tuna in the it.

If Maxi Zoo are saying it's bad, why are they selling it????

"Apparently" they have no choice... but I have spoken to each staff member who have received training/info for each type of dog food they sell and they claim Pedigree is rubbish and they turn every potential customer off it !! Having said that they sold me "Select Gold" which, because of the high protein, nearly killed my dog. I had her at the vet
every month for six months with severe coilitis, before we realised it was the dog food. I put her on Royal Canin and have never looked back. So am a bit annoyed with Maxi Zoo, who knew what my dog was going through, but kept telling me their food was the best. I was a first time dog owner so took them at their word. How wrong I was..... Anyway dog cocker/springer spaniel is doing great. So whatever suits your dog as even the best/dearest food can do great harm!

Is that the wet food in tins? If so its pure crap really. Tinned food is made up of mostly water so has no real nutritional value for a dog. Its ok to use it as a taster or mix a little in with the good complete food but i wouldnt be feeding it soley as their main food.
There are plenty of good quality foods out there, most of the supermarket stuff is crap and very low quality tbh.
