With all the treads recommending that clamps be cut off if they are attached on private land can people who have purchased a 'clamp removing device' :D please recommend some good value effective transportable kit which will leave the NCPS with another highly satisfied customer.

Don't think you'll have many willing to tell you that, but i'm sure the folks over on the DIY forum could recommend you some tools for their intended purpose, just not that stated above.

We can't recommend one based on what you have intent to do, but i'm sure the folks over on the DIY thread could recommend you some tools for the housework you wish to do in the near future.
I have no intent to do anything as I live in a private house in the countryside.

I'm wondering what a good small sized angle grinder would be which would be transportable in the car and easy to use based on the many recommendations of people here for people to use them on clamps. I thought a handy thread where people could look at various power tools for the job may be of use.

People are recommending posters to do it but the devices advised vary a lot if even a brand, size, power band is given

Angle grinders would not be of much use unless you could plug them in, and it would be far cheaper to pay any fine than to buy a petrol consaw.

IIRC to cut the clamp, chain or lock would be viewed as criminal damage so you'd want to try and remove it without damaging the thing. You need to be able to disconnect the drive and shocks like that polish lad did on video to his van in England. Something like a locksmiths lock picking kit would be ideal as you would be removing the clamp without damaging it protecting yourself from litigation.

There are plenty of battery operated grinders that will do the job. DeWalt being one.

Personally I would not fear the knuckle dragging clampers. Unless they could prove a number of things beyond reasonable doubt they would get no where.

Definitely one for the DIY forum.

If it's a generic question about grinders cutting chains, it's for DIY.
If it's a specific question about grinders to cut clamps, it's a thread about damage to private property and against the Charter.

    Thread closed.
