    Hang on a sec. Eirtext is run by a fairly sound guy here on Boards. He's not a scammer, Cuddly TV or whatever is. The Ad seen (And clicked) was probably from an advertising company that the actual app developer has no control over (i.e. iAd's etc) The developer of the app merely drops in some code and the providers show the content.

    They must have entered your number as I cannot see how they would be getting the texts and subscribed without entering a number. Ad's are good but none that I've come across, myself and as a developer, are capable of reading your number off the device (Open to correction on that)

    Could they be more clear as the sequence of events?

    er...eirtext is a top app...and very sound, as is the person that made it.

    maybe the title of the thread needs to be edited, eh ?

    Pretty sure Vinny will be on this ASAP, but as for the app, couldn't fault it at all, nor the level of support he gives it.

    EirText developer here. These ads are provided by AdMob, which is a third party advertising service. We have no direct ties with these advertisers, but will liaise with AdMob to prevent the ads from showing in EirText. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

    Sorry if I upset people, just wanted to warn people from being scammed, I haven't used the app or did I know the developer was a boardsie, I saw the post on another boards forum and felt it should be put up here.
