Complicated hair question!

Hey girls, looking for some advice,

I recently bleached my hair from black, I got it pretty light and then put a light brown over it, the brown faded after a couple of washes and there were some kind of orangey parts so I bleached it again and got all the orange out and then I dyed it a medium brown which again faded to a kind of blonde, I have a pic of the colour I ended up in a previous post.

I decided to put in a few highlights last night (with a cap) basically just because I knew I wanted to go back to dark soon so I said I might as well put in the highlights now so I can see what it's like because i'll probably never go as light as this again.

The highlights came out great but as I said i'm planning on going back dark soon so I was wondering what will I have to use on my hair in the meantime to prepare it for when I want to put the dark dye back in, I already know from the previous 2 dyes (a light and a medium brown) that they do not stay in my hair after it has been bleached and i've heard you can get protein fillers but I don't know if they're available in Ireland.

Would black or chocolate brown stay in the hair even though other colours won't?

    All opinions and experiences welcome!!

    Hi

I've got dark brown hair and bleached it myself a couple of times.
When I want to go back to brown I first put in a tempoary/washout red (the ones that are bright red) then put in a permanent brown colour after that.

It was a hairdresser who did this for me the first time. She said the dark brown doesn't take on the bleached hair for some reason (can't remember the science bit) so the bright red is needed as a stepping stone.

    Hope this helps

    H

Thanks for the fast response smile.gif

For the red do you mean like one of those stain dyes like manic panic or fudgebox??
