    Hey everyone,

I've been accepted to UCC for postgraduate study so was wondering could anyone let me know about what accommodation is best for a postgrad student? Kinda looking for somewhere close to UCC and also cheap (€350-€400 max pm).

    Hey,
I'm the same, starting postgraduate course here also! Would possibly prefer a house than campus accommodation! Any help appreciated!! :D

I'm doing a masters in managing information and managerial accounting systems! I studied in WIT before so Cork will be all new to me! :)

I studied in Galway so it's all new to me too! Looking forward to moving there but don't want to end up with freshers and just want to get accommodation sorted asap!

There was one place I was going to take and the girl I was contacting about never got back to me so I'm guessing the room is gone now. Alot of places down there but they're looking for someone to move in right away. Have you looked into anything?

Hey guys I'm in the same boat myself... Did my degree in galway and have never been to cork in my life...

Have no idea what way to go about this, student accommodation would probably be handy for meeting new people, but I am used to livin in a private house, and the rent is usually a good bit cheaper.

Had a look on college cribs.ie and theree were a few bt not sure how Togo about it really?!

It's a right pain! I wouldn't mind student accommodation for postgrads in Cork but it's kinda pricey :( It was so much easier to find a place in Galway!

I think a house is the cheapest way to go but so hard to know if its dodgy or ok when you dont know the areas. Plus parking seems to be hard to get with some houses :(

yeah i know, think im gonna have to go with a house aswell....

campus accomodation just too expensive :(

i know its gonna be so awkward, id wanna go down to Cork and view a few houses but its wild awkward for me, have to come down from Donegal. But it has to be done I suppose! I had a look on college cribs.ie there were a few that seemed alrite so I must maybe arrange a few viewings.

You guys should let me know if yas have any luck on anythin!

Hey I am in the exact same situation. I studied in UL and now i'm starting a masters in UCC in Sept. the UCC accommodation office on the ucc website is helpful but since i haven't a notion where any of the streets are in relation to the actual college i'm like aaaghhh. I've a pain in my head from searching. Some houses are up on €130 a week with no bills. tv or internet included...meh. I don't want to be landed living with first years like. Do ye know anything about denneheys cross accommodation? Expensive but the photos look nice x

I just booked a room in abbey wharf north. It seems like a decent location and think I'm gonna be sharin with 2 other podtgrads aswell.

It's also not expensive at all, works out at 78 a week including bills. Haven't seen anybody on here mention it though, which is a bit worrying:confused:

But sure it'll do the job! :)

Great to hear you got sorted! I got a place too with two other postgrads and it's near the college so it will do the job! :)
