Best Irish band to play a wedding??

    Folks,

    Our first choice of wedding band is gone for our date. Gutted.

    Im looking for peoples opinions on who they consider to be one of the best bands in the country. We dont want a band that does weddings only. Looking for one that is worth their salt playing weekly at venues around the country so they'll have a decent set list with minimal 'cringe' element.
    To be specific, we're only interested in an established band playing quality indie rock / rock covers but also able to play few waltzes etc too to satisfy all tastes.
    We both like our music and its important to us to get it right. We want to avoid the cheesiness element in as much as it is possible. We have a few thoughts on who else we would like but we'd like to get some input from others !! Feel free to let us know your thoughts! Thanks!

    The Big Generator are brilliant at rock/indie type stuff but AFAIK they don't do waltzes etc;

    peter byrne and the glass onion band maybe? they have a weekly slot in the quays (live music venue) in galway and also play at weddings.

    Mainly easy-listening rock and he performs some of his own material if you're into that. when I've seen them at gigs it's mostly rolling stones, james taylor, the doors, the kinks kinda covers

    good alternative band to the regular wedding cheese if you're looking for something a bit unique:)

    The Usual Suspects are top notch, have seen them in around Dublin a lot the last few years. They play the Porterhouse beside City Hall on Thursdays. The guitarist and the singer are particularly good. They play anything from Led Zep, the Police, Gn'R, ACDC, Thin Lizzy, Chilli Peppers, Tom Petty, Oasis, Killers, Clash, KoL etc..
    The keyboard player Stevo's website is below, you can contact him through that.

    just to add although they're a rock band Stevo is classically trained as a pianist aswell so don't let the website put you off
