I've been looking around for a car to buy, and i've pretty much decided on a 2004 C class 1.8 automatic with 55000 miles on the clock and a full service history and comes with a 6 month warranty.

7000 euro - yay or nay?

    Sounds decent, pretty low mileage
    Link by any chance?
6 month warranty pretty decent on a 7yo car

Sounds decent alright but even a full service history doesn't mean it's in perfect nick. 6 months warranty is very good for such an old car though.

One thing i'd be sure to check is the two connections going onto the camshaft magnets. The magnets leak oil into the wiring loom and ends up in the ECU, very pricey to relpace. Their are adapters from Mercedes which should be fitted to prevent this.

MSL Cork (Mercedes dealer) offering this (2004 C180 Auto, 78k miles) for 7,950, I'm sure you'd get them down closer to 7,000 if you walked in and made an offer.....

There's also several 2004 C180s on donedeal for less than 7k, how good is that warranty you're being offered? Is it written on a beer mat or are you getting it from a franchise dealer?
