    Hi All,
I took a 06 S40 1.6 Td for a spin as it was down on power....Got that sorted but while i was on the road the arse of the car started to wobble from side to side.....then it was fine..driving perfect for the rest of the trip....
I'm thinking it has to be traction control related as it was as if it was braking on the ...rear left..rear right...rear left..rear right etc
No warnings up on the dash only a (!) sign....is this an engine or abs warning..??
I have nothing to read abs/esp faults on volvos..:-(

I have read tru this http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056141145&page=4 so maybe its related to the abs/traction control Ecu.

Just wondering if any of ye Volvo owners/tecs have came across this before....??
    Thanks in advance...
    Ron.

Just wondering if this happens when you are going over eg Manhole covers or a tarmac top layer missing. I had a similar issue but with a Skoda and the rear shocks were replaced, and alignment and it was all sorted

Could it be a warped disc on the rear???

Thanks for your replys lads...The fact that this happens intermittently makes me think its abs/esp related.
I have never seen this happening before on car i have driven....

You could induce a fault in the ABS say disconnect a wheel sensor, and then see if the problem is still evident...

I'd check the wheel nuts first, couldve come loose.

All 4 tyres have been changed + 4 wheel alignment and it was still acting the same way..

Was it happening before that or just since?
Is it only when you brake?

I had a wobble at the rear and it was that one of the steele rims was badly damaged and out of shape. I guess that they would have picked it up when they put them on the balancing machine as that's how i found out
