    Hi

VirtualBox is the software to manage Virtual Machines

You will load VirtualBox, then create any VM you want first.

It will ask you, the name of your vm, the size of the disk space, how much ram you want to use.

You will then boot the VM where it will look for an .iso image

Hope this helps, if not let me know - ive VirtualBox running with several VM's

I've recently used disk2vhd to migrate an existing windows partition/install to a virtual disk which I then successfully loaded in virtualbox vm. A couple of things I needed to do where
    1) in virtualbox, once the VM is started installed the "Guest Additions" which includes all the windows drivers for the virtual devices in windows.
    2) start the new windows VM in safe mode and remove all the specific (to the system it was on) devices and any related software.

Well, you don't need to do a clean install as someone suggested earlier. You can convert an existing windows installation into an virtual image.

With some tweaking, you can also boot a windows partition directly using virtualbox, but you'll need to install VM drivers into the windows partition first and it can get very messy. I've done this before successfully, but its wasn't worth the effort in the end.

You can also just create a clean install within the virtualbox (you'll need a windows license). Once created and up and running, the nice thing is that that image can be transfered to other machines if you need it, which is nice. (Not sure what the license conotations are here, but I do this often with linux virtual machines.)

So there's plenty of options! Tell us what you need to do specifically.
