It's not looking good for the National League when more teams are dropping out again for the coming season. Should we go back to the old ten teams in one league or stick with the current system??

Star of the Sea and Moycullen are both having money troubles.

I think myself the old ten teams home/away system works best.
The way the league is now in the Southern Conference you can lose eight games and still be in the league final which is not right at all as the big three in the south know they are in the play offs no matter what.

It saves the teams a bunch on travel (and in some cases accommodation) costs.

Better sponsership deals would go a long way to helping with that problem.

there is zero money in basketball in ireland.. any club is just barely keeping afloat if even... getting proper sponsorship deals for the clubs is not easy. especially in the last few years... something needs to change in the system but not sure what can be done without getting government funding for the league... or else a major sponsor for the lot to help cover costs for all teams..

Go back to the way it was. One league with a top 4 play-off, its still they way the women's' league is run and with Ireland having so few teams who are able to cope financially then it makes more sense.

I think the old league format was better .Since the conference format started it has been too easy to qualify for the playoffs, especially in the southern section, without killarney and tralee!
