Guitar Pro 5 Problem

    Hi Guys

    Is there anyone here who uses Guitar Pro , if so are you familiar with this ( just click on uploaded file and take a look :confused: ) . I cant access my songs anymore .

    Your installation is corrupt. Uninstall and reinstall the application.

    And never post screen shots in Word documents. It's a security risk (macros and the like)

    I've seen that error a few times in GP5. It's basically a memory access violation. It used to happen to me occasionally when I'd a song open for a while. They have fixed it in Guitar Pro 6 (or at least I have yet to see it) so I'd advise updating to that. You can get an upgrade license for €30.

    There are a couple of things I don't like about GP6. The percussion input is completely different and I really don't like the new method. There doesn't seem to be a simple way to input beats with the keyboard as was possible in GP5. Also the palm-muted guitar sounds terrible regardless of what combination of input parameters are used and when I contacted support about it they stated that they had no intention of addressing it.

    Do you know if there is a way of fixing it in GP5 ? . I have emailed Arobas music who supply GP and i am waiting a reply . Are you aware of any update they can email me to remedy the problem .
    From what i have heard among musicians who use GP they all prefare GP5 to GP6 so i would be hesitant to splash out money i dont have on something i dont really want , i would just prefare to get this one sorted out.

    I don't think there's a way of fixing it in GP5. I used to just make sure I saved regularly and, whenever I got the error, restarted the app.

    While there are issues with GP6, I'd recommend at least downloading the demo and trying it out yourself rather than dismissing it just because other people did. It sounds a lot better than GP5 in my opinion. Then if you decide you like it, stay in next Saturday night and you'll have saved yourself at least €30. There's your upgrade money ;).
