For some unknownst reason - myzone.tcd.ie seems to be blocked in China. I used to use mytmail.tcd.ie but discovered that it seems to be turned off as of last month.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to access my trinity email (I don't want to use those proxies if possible). Is there an equivalent to the mytmail site that I could access directly for the tcd gmail and bypass myzone?

Could someone just copy and paste their gmail address from within their tcd gmail site and it'll bounce me back to the login page? Funnily enough, gmail itself is fine in China.

There's an option in myzone that allows you to forward all emails on to a gmail, so you could just set that up and you should be fine.

Try using Tor to access the internet? (Not sure if that works in China). Or ask someone to set up your TCDmail to forward to your Gmail account automatically.

That's really strange. I was afraid of that happening when I was in China but it worked fine when I was in China. Google also worked. Sometimes. Google maps is so useful for trying to get around.

Thanks for the address - that's exactly what I needed. I don't trust the free proxies for sensitive information and I'm only here for a few weeks that makes the paid proxies uneconomical.

I do forward the emails to a different address but my contacts have all been stored in the tcd.ie address (something I simply consider was that myzone would be inaccessible in China - by normal means...)

As an Irish Chinese who pops in and out of China regularly it's hit and miss - every so often a site gets blocked for some reason or another (generally they say it's because of lewd images ) I recommend using Baidu maps if you want to get from A to B in China.

boards.ie gets blocked every so often too *shakes fist at politics forum * ironically, I'm often on that forum trying to offer a Western/Chinese "balanced" view of the situation in China...

My bad - I was just scanning through - mytmail.tcd.ie does not work in China and I was wondering if that was due to the firewall or not.

And while mytmail.tcd.ie doesn't work in China, the direct google link (https://mail.google.com/a/tcd.ie/#inbox) does...
