Well as the title states really ,

I have set up my mobile me account on my Macbook,iPhone and iPad .

There is no issues sending mails on the macbook using Mac mail, its syncs the email on all 3 devices.

If I look at an email on the Macbook , it doesnt come up as a new mail on the iPhone or iPad but it will still be in the mails sections , same if I delete on the iPhone , it deletes it on the iPad and MacBook which is exactly what I want.

Now my issue is that when I send a mail from the iPhone or iPad it does not come from my POP3 account address it comes up as "myname@me.com" instead of "myname@mydomain.ie"

I have been looking online and have found this site but I still cant seem to get it working properly , any help would be much appreciated .

Most (if not all) POP3 servers won't allow you to send from sources other than their own i.e. from your own WiFi. This is to stop spamming. On IMAP servers such as Mobile and gmail you can send from anywhere, because you have to log in. But, you should be able to just use the smtp settings (outgoing) for all your emails, which wouldn't show on a normal email.

You should have in your email settings:

myname@mydomain.ie - Primary server would be your home WiFi smtp details.
Under that you would have Other SMTP Servers - these are the ones that it tries if it is unsuccessful getting out using your Primary SMTP. On mine, I have my details for 3 and my work IMAP SMTP server, so if it doesn't get out on the home WiFi, it goes looking for another.
Mobile me - uses smtp.me.com, and again, has the other servers under that (3, home WiFi etc.)

Thats the way it is set up on mine, and I'm doing more or less the same as you. Sorry, its hard to explain it :o

On IMAP services such as Mobileme yes, I'm not aware of any way of syncing POP3 accounts?

Got onto mobile me chat support who told me its a iphone tech support issue,

I have my pop3 account set to inactive and am only using the .me IMAP service.

An issue I had today ,

Big group email going around , im out of the office , mail comes into the .me account (it was mailed to myname@mydomain.ie which is what i want) hit reply and send back a response but it comes from myname@me.com aslo I end up sending a mail to myname@mydomain.ie as i hit reply all.

Long story short , there was over 50 mails and I got everyone of them twice, one to myname@mydomain.ie and one to myname@me.com !

    My head is wrecked !
