Hardback volume one is out of print, although that major American retailer still has copies. You can pick up second hand copies online in the UK.

You might prefer to do what I plan to do - wait for the 3rd volume to be released and then buy the special boxed set which will be released in due course.

Thanks for the advice. There is gonna be a third volume? or are you anticipating one? Whats your take on the second volume on Holy Week?

I read that Benedict is planning to produce a third volume on the infancy narrative. I think I read/heard somewhere that the infancy narrative volume was due to be volume 2, but he felt it was more important to get the Passion volume out first in case he didn't have the opportunity to write it after the infancy volume.

I think volume 2 is excellent. I think it is much easier to read than volume one, which although excellent, was a bit heavy. In fact, I put off reading it for some years for that very reason. I only read it in haste to make way for volume 2. Part of me thinks that perhaps, just perhaps, somebody might have whispered in Benedict's ear to adjust his writing style, although I would doubt that. I think part of the reason that I find volume 2 more readable is that it covers the most interesting part of Jesus life: His passion, death, and resurrection, but that isn't the main reason.

What do you think of volume one and two?
