I'm a fella and I want to get rid of my mono brow but I'm too embarrassed

Okay so I've been plucking my eye brow for years now, since the first time I noticed it starting to grow and now I'm just getting sick of plucking it all the time. I don't know why i have such a problem with it, I remember my grandmother saying "you will always find deceit in a man whose eyebrows meet" dunno why it stuck on me until now.

I'm hopping to international volunteer work in a third world country wit some people I know so I obviously can't be plucking it over there. Not only will it show my mono brow but how vain I am:o! So I want this to be permanently removed from once and for all.

I'm really embarressed about this and I'd feel mortified going into a beutician to get laser/electrolosis done on it. Is there anything I could do on this on my own? Will I have to bite the bullet and go to a beutician (one out of town) and get laser/electrolosis done? How many sessions would it take to remove some if not most of the hair between my eyebrows and cost? Do many fellas get this done?

OP I can't help you with the laser info but I will tell you that sooo many guys have monobrows and tweeze them! Believe you me I'd rather meet a "vain" guy than one with one eyebrow. I recently asked a professional waxer if she gets many male clients and she told me she gets a lot of guys in to do between their brows. Don't feel so embarrassed :)

You are so not alone Silent Runner! There are tonnes of lads in your position and if you go to any beautician they won't bat an eyelid.

there is nothin you can do to remove it permanently,so your only option is a beautician who is already used to men comin in to her,so many fellows do it already so as the other poster said dont be embarrassed:)

Depending on your skintone, (people suitable would have pale skin/dark hair) laser would take about one session a month for at least 4-6 months, possibly longer, depending on how it 'takes'. It could also set you back a good few hundred.

If you don't have this time, just keep tweezing, I assume you'd often do it around the time when you shave so it shouldn't be too bothersome to fit into your routine.

Helps to remember- you can't bring tweezers in handluggage through airports.

My sister is a beautician and she has blokes come in for random hair removal, facials, mani-pedi, massages and anything else you can think of all the time - nobody would even notice. There are lots of guys in your position and once you go to a professional once, the next time won't be as bad. Just bite the bullet!

If the hair between your eyebrows in dark, any laser treatment will take a shorter period of time to work completely (it works best on super dark hair). It won't be very expensive because it's such a small area. Electrolysis may not be the best option because a few new hairs can come through (and then need to be removed) after a while, but you could always ask about it and see what the beautician says.

    Go for it.

Try waxing and see how you get on with it. If that doesn't work for you try the laser.

There is nothing wrong with caring about your appearance.

When shaving in the morning, why not shave the middle bit of the monobrow?

trust me girls in salons have much more embarrassing areas to wax, a brow would probably be a nice change.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I just have to bite the bullet and test my manhood! I'll have to go to one out of town, where they'll probably have a higher chance of dealing with men more often than others. It's just that I don't give off the most "metro sexual" impression on people.

I have done that but it leaves that kind of stuble effect between my eyebrows and if someone was very close to me it would be very obvious that I was covering something up. Plucking is also much better and have to do it less often.

I'm white and have dark brown hair so it shows up very noticably.

I just want this to be done with doing this all the time. I think it would be worth the money just to get rid of it.

Anyone have something like this done, I'm thinking success rate?

    Thanks again:)

beauticians see everything in their salons, don't be embarrassed. I have have a couple of facial hairs too, I can't be bothered with beauticians so I bought a facial epilator, best thing ever, the hair doesn't grow back as quick as plucking, it grows back much finer and for some reason blonde rather than dark, so it's much less noticable.
Heel of the hunt, don't be embarrassed, none of us are perfect.

Speaking as a beauty therapist, they don't judge or laugh at men who come in. Its an eyebrow wax -- they won't think any less of you.

Laser or Electrolysis are the only permanent ways to remove the hair. You won't be able to achieve that at home. Waxing will last a while. Plucking is a cheap method, but for gods sake, don't shave them!
