car tax car off the road

    hi all
    the story goes we have 2 cars as times were good they are no longer good and my question is
    2nd car 1L picanto 04 18k miles has not been used since tax ran out last oct and barely used before that school rus etc

    i have put it up for sale without joy(havent pushed too hard either)
    is there any time limit that i can have it untaxed and if i was to sell would i need to get cert from gaurds to say off the road
    car is in garden so not on main road
    nct sept 10 but will pass it no probs

    It can be untaxed for as long as you like so long as it is not on the road.

    thanks i wasn't too sure
    so if for instance year down the line the oh wants to drive again and if funds alow then is it just get cert from gaurds and then retax and nct etc ?

    It can be untaxed for as long as you like so long as it is not on the road.

    To clarify - "no on the public road".

    F.E. I don't think roads in living estates are public roads.
