One idiot broke my license plate with his towing bar and that plate isn't in usable condition. Any advice what to do? I'm leaving a note under the wiper. Where i could get a new one? Thanks.

As you're in Cork, any Motor Factors will do it. Albert Quinlans in Dennehy's Cross do it while you wait, and they've plenty of parking too. Halfords also do them, but they're nearly 15 Euro a plate, and their machine are currently broken too.

Thanks. How much are they roughly? Something around tenner?

... I spoke to the owner of that van one hour ago and of course he said it wasn't him. It is more than clear that it was him, as the height of the towing bar exactly fits to the area where the plate is damaged. And I really don't need to be a detective to see from his gestures and trembling voice that he is guilty. Then he started mumbling something about me not having a parking permit...

And as a bonus later when i was heading for some dinner to the chipper old woman in Vw polo almost ran into me on South Ring... Irish driving at its best...

Anything between 10-13 Euro I'd say. Albert's good value to be fair. You may need to prove you own the number, so either bring the car, or the ownership book for it.
