How to Pitch your Business Idea

Dragon’s Den star Sean Gallagher will return to Longford on Monday May 30th next to host a workshop helping people with business ideas to develop them to the point where they are investor ready. The event is being hosted by Longford Business Forum in association with Longford Enterprise Board and is a follow up to the launch of the Longford Business Angel Network where local investors are seeking good high potential companies to invest in.

The reaction to the launch of the Angel Network has been very positive achieving national profile and importantly several new ideas have being put forward for consideration.

According to Business Forum Member Jim Behan ‘ the Angel Launch has been welcomed widely as a very innovative initiative and it has been identified as a potential funding solution for new businesses in their attempts to access start-up finance. Longford is the first County to launch such a fund and a measure of its impact is the fact that several other counties are already talking about replicating our efforts. He added that it is important that Longford maximises its first mover advantage and aggressively promotes Longford as a viable business location.

The event on May 30th will allow people with ideas at different stages of development to get practical advice from one of the gurus in the Angel investing field, Mr. Sean Gallagher. Sean has considered hundreds of proposals and has good knowledge around how an idea needs to be packaged and presented to attract interest from outside investors. According to Sean, ‘different angels have different expectations when they are getting involved in a new business, but all of them like to think that they are making a wise sound investment. The key is to have the fundamentals right and to make sure that your presentation ticks all the right boxes. Any doubt about any aspect of a proposal is normally enough for a potential investor to hold off and wait for a new pitch’.

The event run from 10am to 12pm and anyone interested in attending should ring Longford Enterprise board on 04333 42757
