    Dunno how this works regarding cycling (this research is based on that) but in terms of running it is too good to be true as the fact is that your body cant handle the higher intensity and as a result higher risk of injury. No point in getting super fit in three weeks and then being injured for couple of months its like taking one step forward and two back

    For running Variety is key you should have higher intensity sessions alright but should also back this up with high volume proportional to your high quality duration

    Nothing new in that article. HIT has made it into the popular sports magazines in a big way in the last few years.

    If you are 'time crunched', trying to train for a triathlon on a few hours a week, then this is the way to go (at least for a period of time). If you have 12 hours a week to train you're not going to fill it with HIT, nor should you.

    Analysis of elite athletes (ie high performers, with top coaches, and lots of time to train) in different disciplines consistently shows 20% training at high intensity, 80% at low intensity.

    might have to apply some of it, considering lately im not even getting out for 2 hours ...
    kids... wife getting into training as well
    next year will be better !
