Stats on Irish in China

    I'm doing some research on Irish people living in China, but statistic are very hard to find on this. Could anyone advise me where I could find stats on
    • Numbers of Irish in China
    • Numbers of Chinese in Ireland
    • The durations of stays and visas of Irish in China
    • The durations of stays and visas of Chinese in Ireland
    • The profile of Irish in China i.e. Age range, male/female ratio, reasons for being there work or other
    • The profile of Chinese in Ireland i.e. Age range, male/female ratio, reasons for being there work or other
    • Any other information you might think relevant or important

    Any information or statics you could offer would be hugely appreciated

    Try the Embassy in Beijing first, you may get some pointers.

    Was referring to the Irish embassy, very friendly people there.

    Yep, call the Embassy, though they might be slow getting back to you. Also ask for a desk officer in Dublin responsible for China. They might send an email to the Embassy looking for information and it might bring more weight. But the Embassy should have their figures up-to-date, or know who does, because DFA has been working on an 'Irish Abroad' strategy for some time. They issued a request for information on the Irish Diaspora from the Embassies and these were submitted some time ago.
