Ask a neighbour for one? Do you have a BBQ you could light a piece of paper off?

Turn on the toaster and stick in some solid cardboard, something slow burning and light the gas with it.

Light some paper from the grill or toaster or if you have a small 9v square battery connect a wire on each terminal and then touch them togeather to make a spark and use that the light the gas ;)

Could you make a taper out of paper and use the toaster to light that?

Turn on the gas, place a magazine in the toaster, turn on toaster, run.

Course it will work, just don't set the house on fire otherwise the kids will get no dinner!!

Turn on the gas for about twenty minutes or so, then push down the toaster and BOOM there you go.

Tear off a small piece of newspaper and hold it into the toaster until it lights. Failing that put the dinner in the toaster.

Ok... sorted... piece of thick paper and the toaster... although it got a bit hairy towards the end when it wouldn't initially light the cooker and it was getting dangerously close to my fingers...

    My kids will eat today...

    P.S. I don't have a car...

Put 2 slices of bread in toaster.
Once golden, butter them up and slice diagonally.
Make cup of tea. Bring tea and toast out into street and offer yummy snack in exchange for ciggy lighter.
    Simples.

    Just have toast for dinner.

Toast is a delicious, nutritious and very versatile food.

    Why not try it jam?

If it's a gas cooker, close all the windows and doors, turn on the gas, leave the room for 20min and then return and flick on the light-switch.

    Tooaaasty.
