1996 BMW 316i Electrical faults

Hi There, Wondering if anyone can advise me. In the last two years I have spent several thousand Rand on my 1996 316i. I have a feeling the mechanics have done more harm than good. Two years ago I had v belt and drive belts replaced and a major service. The next day - much squealing and vapour pouring out from the bonnet. The belts hadn't been fitted properly and they had cracked the radiator when pressure testing. I took it back and was charged for the labour to fix the belt placement but was told I needed a new radiator - estimating R3,650. Needless to say - I left in a huff and had the radiator repaired (not replaced somewhere else). Ever since, my air con comes on and off at will - I cannot turn it on when I need to. My left headlight keeps going off (halogen replaced several times), all the digital displays on the dash have disappeared....... just wondering could this all be down to the alternator belts? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I also had the ignition barrel replaced which may have affected the dash displays???

Thats one messy problem. It'll be no fun but if you can get a wiring diagram and check along the live wires for the headlights and the Air con.

I'd have a guess that there earthing off the body of the car and "blowing"
going off. Plus check switches and relays.

Faulty or loose wiring. So check the lives are good, so are the earths.
    Nothing touching. Good luck.
