Getting the ferry Friday 20th May morning to Fishguard is there anything open anymore in terminal? As was thinking of having breakfast before sailing.

Depending on your mode of transport, if you are travelling by train you will be dropped off in the town center rather than at the port itself so you could nip into the local Spar and grab roll instead. :p

OP, just get a breakfast on the boat once you have boarded. If nothing else it will pass a bit of time pre cruise for you.

There is no dining cars on the rosslare trains to Rosslare europort station which is a very long walk from the actual terminal! and nowhere in the terminal to purchase anything more substantial than a prepacked sandwich, a packet of crisps and tea or coffee in a paper cup.

I trust this is yet another transport hub that you know intimately with your well known ramblings

Care to declare your interests or membership of railway groups?

to answer your question; No. I dont know the area or "transport hub"(seriously are you joking?) very well, but wat I have posted is my experience from my last visit to Rosslare Europort a number of months ago.

Think the OP is asking about the ferry port itself rather than the train station or lack thereof.

I'm going to be in the same boat myself (if you excuse the pun) on that Friday. What facilities, if any are there in the ferry port at Rosslare?

    Is there a bar?
Is there a cafe or restaurant?
    Is there a shop?
    Is there an ATM?

    etc, etc...

Lets keep the shítetalk about getting to the ferry port (trains, busses etc) somewhere else eh?

There is a very small shop ccounter that sells tea and coffee and a limited supply of sandwiches, as well as some papers and other crisps and snacks, afair there is an atm but no bar or restaurant, the upper level is completly closed off.

    Children's Play-Area no
    Baby-Changing Facilities yes, in toilets
Car Rental yes, hertz or budget? not always open
Shops 1 small counter selling tea/coffee/snacks
    Bureau de Change yes

Whats your problem with what Foggy said about Rosslare Europort? Seems pretty accurate to me.

I have found a possible connection with Irish railway news but feel because of the reluctance to declare such in the conflict of interest thread there may well be links to C.I.E. or Irish rail or other transport groups or companies or maybe even the department of transport.

I wouldn't call it a conflict of interests per say, but I would suggest that any opinion could be biased. Read this thread closely.

I read that reference to a working volunteer at Downpatrick but stuff like that should really be mentioned in some of a persons early posts not well after 400 posts especially when most of their posts are defending Irish rail in some way.

In fairness being a volunteer at Downpatrick wouldn't really be a conflict of interest when talking about Irish Rail. It would only be of relavence if the discussion was about Downpatrick really.
