Not true. I used use my laser card quite often on sites that are owned and run by American and Chinese companies based in their respective countries.

Sometimes you can just click VISA card option and it will work and more times you can use the Debit card option. Granted its not the easiest way to shop online, more and more companies are recognizing the Laser card

Invest in a pre-pay credit card, or get an account that uses Visa Debit. Laser is accepted in very few online locations.
