to anyone out there who is mid training their dog. (i suppose all dogs are mid training) and its going a little wayward or getting the better of you then i say don't lose heart.

as you may have seen the few pics of the new pup i got before christmas, we'll he's alot bigger and a bit bolder now. i've been training him since the end of feb. it was a really hard slog, he had my heart broken. but bish bash bosh the last three weeks there have been pennies dropping all over the place, he is following commands, chewing up the ground, showing great intrest in cover and scent, huping at distance, coming into call.

i had images of having to buy e collers and check cords but its looking good now. a long way to go yet i know but happy out at the minute.

You need ALOT of patience training a dog!! But when you see it all paying off it is just the best feeling ever.

this is the second springer im training. the first one was a beginners dream. she wanted to do anything i asked of her. this lad wants to do a bit of what i want and alot of what he wants. . . but we learn every day and both dogs are giving me huge satisfaction everytime i have them out. (even if i have to make the odd unwanted leap over fences to make my point heard):D

anyway for me hunting is all about watching the dogs work, i've admitted on here before that i've missed the odd bird because of 'dog watching'.
